Hello my name is Trey, and I am currently a graduate student pursuing a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at John Carroll University. I earned my undergraduate degree in psychology from American Public University. My career has been quite diverse as I have had the opportunity to work as a paramedic, firefighter/Paramedic, and I am now working as a 911 dispatcher while finishing my master’s degree. These previous professions along with life experiences are why I chose to become a counselor.

I adopt a person-centered approach to counseling. I always focus on working with clients and meeting them where they are in their lives currently. I provide a supportive and unbiased environment where the clients may feel more empowered to explore their key challenges or or work towards their goals. By actively engaging with the client at every stage of the counseling process it ensures that they receive high quality counseling experience and one that is personalized directly to them. I take an integrative approach to counseling and use techniques from Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and others. I effectively tailor my services to meet each client’s specific needs.

I am particularly focused on assisting males and first responder’s in their mental health journey. My vision is to build a safe space in which clients may build resilience, learn, heal and undergo the transformation they desire. Outside work, I love spending time with my family and friends. My wife and I are currently expecting our first child and I look forward to becoming a parent. I also enjoy playing video games and working around my house in my free time. These things help keep me grounded and allow me to practice self care in my free time.

I eagerly look forward to working with you on your journey to transformative healing and growth!
