Location: Westlake

Hi! My name is Sarah and I am so happy that you are considering myself and Holding Space as your partners in your mental health journey.

My greatest goal as a therapist is to provide you a therapeutic environment that encourages you to nurture your vulnerability, ask questions, remain curious, and experience the full spectrum of human emotion.I believe that each client holds the keys to their own success and healing, yet past trauma, societal norms, stigmatization, and maladaptive perfectionism act as roadblocks to our ability to cultivate our true selves. I encourage clients to bring all that they are into the therapeutic space and work to employ a wide variety of therapeutic modalities in order to meet all of the facets of your personhood where they are, and with the utmost support and care. When working with children, I employ both play and art therapy techniques in order to support growing minds in age-appropriate emotional processing, skill building, and communication development.

Throughout my career, I have held positions in a variety of settings including residential treatment centers, community mental healthcare, and outpatient therapy. I also hold special interest in the treatment of eating disorders, trauma, anxiety, adolescent mental health, and women’s issues. Currently, I am training with the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals in order to complete my Certified Eating Disorder Specialist designation.

Outside of the workplace, I can be found spending time with my two dogs and two cats, volunteering at the animal shelter, and wishing I was on a warm beach somewhere sunny.
