Abby Shuster

CT Counselor Trainee at Westlake and Brecksville
Hello, and welcome! My name is Abby, and I am a current graduate student at John Carroll University working towards a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from The Ohio State University in 2023. My experiences include working with children and adolescents in inpatient psychiatric care, as well as supporting college students with disabilities through individualized accommodations and counseling support.

I understand that seeking counseling is a courageous step, and my goal is to create a warm, non-judgmental environment where you can feel safe to share and explore. I consider therapy a collaborative process where you and I work together as a team. I believe in creating a safe, supportive space for clients to explore their thoughts, feelings and experiences. My approach is rooted in empathy, active listening, and mutual respect, ensuring that our work together reflects your unique strengths, needs and values.

I am passionate about working with people of all ages and backgrounds. Whether you are managing stress, coping with life transitions, addressing mental health concerns, or seeking personal growth, we will work side-by-side to create meaningful change. Outside of work, I enjoy reading, yoga, and cooking, which help me live a balanced lifestyle and recharge so I can approach my work with creativity and mindfulness. I look forward to working together and helping you uncover your resilience and potential.
