Therapy can be a wonderful opportunity to learn more about ourselves, to compassionately examine the patterns in our lives that leave us feeling stuck or frustrated, and to ultimately strengthen our relationships. This process of self-exploration often leads to people feeling more confident and connected to themselves and more capable of managing the obstacles in their lives.

We work with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families on the following services listed below.

DBT is a type of talk therapy (psychotherapy). It’s based on CBT, but it’s specially adapted for people who experience emotions very intensely. “Dialectical” means combining opposite ideas. DBT focuses on helping people accept the reality of their lives and their behaviors, as well as helping them learn to change their lives, including their unhelpful behaviors.

EMDR is a psychotherapy treatment that was originally designed to alleviate the distress associated with traumatic memories. SFT is a short-term goal-focused evidence-based therapeutic approach, which incorporates positive psychology principles and practices, and which helps clients change by constructing solutions rather than focusing on problems. In the most basic sense, SFBT is a hope friendly, positive emotion eliciting, future-oriented vehicle for formulating, motivating, achieving, and sustaining desired behavioral change.

Systemic Therapy is a therapeutic framework that focuses on understanding and addressing issues within a person’s wider system, like their family or relationships, by examining the interactions and dynamics within that system, often utilizing techniques from narrative therapy to help individuals “re-author” their life stories and separate themselves from problematic narratives they may hold about themselves; essentially viewing the problem as something external to their identity rather than a part of who they are.

TF-CBT addresses the mental health needs of children, adolescents, and families suffering from the destructive effects of early trauma. The treatment is particularly sensitive to the unique problems of youth with posttraumatic stress disorder and mood disorders resulting from sexual abuse as well as from physical abuse, violence, or grief. Because the client is usually a child, TF-CBT often brings non-offending parents or other caregivers into treatment and incorporates principles of family therapy.
