Heather Anderson
I am passionate about working with teens and young adults and assisting them in understanding the world and finding their path in life. I am LGBTQ+ affirming and enjoy supporting clients as they are.
In my practice, I utilize a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. I enjoy using art and games as interventions, as I believe therapy can be both fun and beneficial. I believe that building a supportive and trusting relationship is essential to providing therapy, and I enjoy collaborating with clients to help them meet their goals. I use a strengths-based approach and believe that all clients have the ability to succeed if given the right support.
I am a licensed social worker and I earned both my Bachelors and Masters of Social Work from Cleveland State University. During this time, I worked on a Helpline providing resources and crisis interventions to callers in need. I use this experience when working with clients to connect them to resources and help ensure their needs are met. My professional background includes adolescent and adult psychiatric inpatient care and working as a school-based therapist with high schoolers. I have experience working with clients ages 6-adult.
In my free time, I enjoy painting, hiking, and spending time with friends and family.
