Autism and ADHD Assessment
Consultation – A 1-hour informational session utilized answering questions and discussing individual needs in order to make an informed decision on which assessment is the best fit.
Sensory Profile
The Sensory Profile is used to identify sensory processing patterns and comprehend the impact of different sensory processing patterns on functional performance. A complete sensory profile can be assessed in addition to either informal or formal assessments. This includes the Sensory Profile Questionnaire as well as a 1-hour feedback session providing explanations of results, final sensory profile report, as well as a list of resources.
Informal Assessment
The informal assessment will include a 1-hour diagnostic interview utilizing the MIGDAS-2. Following the initial interview a second session will be scheduled where diagnosis, additional feedback, and a confirmation letter will be provided. The confirmation letter is for personal use not for medical, work, or academic accommodation.
Formal Assessment
The formal assessment includes a more in-depth interview process (MIGDAS-2) as well as the use of several evidenced-based self-administered questionnaires (Browns ADD, RAADS-R, CAT-Q, Monotropism Questionnaire). Following the initial interview a second session will be scheduled where diagnosis, additional feedback, a comprehensive report, and a list of resources/referrals will be provided. Accommodation letters are available on request and may be used for most medical and academic accommodation.
Why Do We Not Accept Insurance for Assessments?
Thorough, Unhurried Assessments
Assessments often require a level of depth and attention that insurance policies do not accommodate. Without being confined by strict time limits, we can dedicate the necessary time to fully understand your unique story, ensuring that every part of your assessment is detailed and thoughtful. This allows us to uncover important insights that may otherwise be overlooked, reducing the risk of misdiagnosis, especially for neurodivergent adults.
Access to Comprehensive Tools and Techniques
Insurance often restricts the range of tools and methods we can use to accurately assess your needs. By working outside these constraints, we have the freedom to employ a wide variety of specialized tests and approaches, giving you the most accurate and relevant information possible.
Personalized, Client-Focused Approach
Unlike the cookie-cutter approach that insurance tends to enforce, we tailor the entire assessment process to suit your specific needs and concerns. This ensures that the results are not only more relevant to your journey but also empowering, rather than general or incomplete.
Flexibility to Address Complex Issues
Insurance companies typically limit the scope of diagnoses they will cover, often missing the complexities inherent in neurodivergence. By choosing to work independently of insurance, we can explore the full range of your experiences, providing clear and comprehensive insights without restrictions.
Expert Care Focused on You
Assessments require high levels of expertise that often don’t align with the reimbursement rates set by insurance companies. Additionally, the pressures of insurance-driven workloads can lead to burnout among professionals. By prioritizing quality over insurance limits, we ensure you receive the expert care and attention you deserve. Our approach allows us to maintain a manageable workload, so we can dedicate the necessary time to your assessment without sacrificing the quality of care.
Efficient, Responsive Service
Insurance often introduces delays through complex prior authorization processes and administrative hurdles. By removing these barriers, we can begin your assessment right away, avoiding unnecessary delays and stress.
Improved Privacy
Insurance companies require disclosure of diagnoses, which can compromise your privacy and affect other aspects of your life. By not working with insurance, we ensure your personal information remains confidential and entirely under your control.
